World Series of Fighting appears poised to produce as big a splash with their second show as was the case when the promotion debuted last November, booking a card coming ever-closer to completion with the recent addition of multiple match-ups highlighted by familiar faces and up-and-coming talent. One such scrap features welterweights Josh Burkman and Aaron Simpson, both of whom have called the UFC home including a three-year run from the latter ending late last year.
Burkman (24-9) is on a three-fight winning streak with an outpointing of Gerald Harris a few months back at WSOF 1. Comparably, the 12-4 Simpson was last seen losing to Mike Pierce after going 4-1 in his previous pairings.
Other fights revealed today in a press release to media include Rick Glenn-Alexandre Pimentel, Waylon Lowe-Cameron Dollar, Gesias Cavalcante-Justin Gaethje, and Paulo Filho-Dave Branch. Also, officials confirmed Igor Gracie, Ozzy Dugulubgov, and Danillo Villefort will be booked for the show against yet-to-be-named opponents.
WSOF 2 is scheduled for March 23 in Atlantic City, New Jersey and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports. The show is set to feature Andrei Arlovski-Anthony Johnson slugging it out in the main event with bantamweights Marlon Moraes-Tyson Nam mixing it up in the co-headlining slot.
