The Season 7 lightweight final between Bellator competitors Marcin Held and Dave Jansen was initially expected to take place in December before falling apart at the last minute. Though both men were ready to rumble, the 20-year old Held’s age prevented him from fighting inside an Indiana casino based on State law requiring people to be 21 to enter the facility. Unfortunately, the fight has been pushed back once again, this time due to Held’s health.
According to MMAJunkie, multiple sources have confirmed Held-Jansen will no longer battle at Bellator 92 after the Polish youngster suffered some sort of injury that slowed his training for the tilt. However, the affliction was not serious, as Held will be cleared to compete two weeks later at Bellator 93.
The show is set for March 21 in Lewiston, Maine.
Held holds an overall record of 15-2 including eight submissions and was last seen tapping out Rich Clementi in November. Meanwhile, the 18-2 Jansen is on a five-fight winning streak and game on the ground as well.
