MMA fans have a treat in store this May when UFC heavyweights Pat Barry and Shawn Jordan square off inside the Octagon. Though no specific event has been attached to the outing, both men have apparently agreed to a bout, creating a clash almost certain to feature a knockout considering the power each man packs.
Barry’s kickboxing background has resulted in fireworks more often than not when the 8-5 striker steps into the cage. Seven of his wins have ended with a strike-based stoppage including a second-round smashing of Shane Del Rosario in December.
The 14-4 Jordan has picked up victories in three of his last four fights with finishes of Oli Thompson, Lavar Johnson, and Mike Russow. Thirteen of his triumphs have involved an adversary’s evening ending before scorecards came into play with three submissions and ten TKOs.
