UFC light heavyweight Ryan Bader has never been afraid of a challenge, taking on some of the top names in the division throughout his career including four champions (past/present) over his last six scraps. Though Bader’s next test won’t involve an opponent with links to UFC gold, many feel it is only a matter of time before that status will change, giving “Darth” a force to be reckoned when the cage door closes.
According to UFC officials, Bader will take on Glover Teixeira on May 25 at UFC 160. The Memorial Day Weekend match-up joins other notable bouts on the card such as Donald Cerrone-K.J. Noons, Junior dos Santos-Alistair Overeem, and headliner Cain Velasquez-Antonio Silva.
The 15-3 Bader will enter the bout with victories in three of his last four fights. Among the notable foes he’s felled in the past are the likes of Keith Jardine, Vinny Magalhaes, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Vlad Matyushenko, and Quinton Jackson.
While Bader may be coming off a win, Teixeira is riding the momentum of triumphs in his last eighteen efforts. He holds an overall mark of 20-2 with seventeen stoppages to his credit.
