The UFC Primetime series surrounding tomorrow night’s title-fight between bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and challenger Liz Carmouche wrapped up last night, putting a solid close on a wholly entertaining effort aimed at documenting the lives of both women leading up to UFC 157. The final show in a three part run of episodes highlighted the final steps of training for the tilt during which Rousey’s confidence was evident.
“I know I’ve trained harder than Liz has. She can tell herself whatever she wants. She’s a really tough chick who has been through a lot and that’s nice for her, but this is just who I am. I was born to fight. This is what I was meant to do,” said Rousey.
Meanwhile, for Carmouche, the bout marks a longtime dream coming to fruition, and the former Marine couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to participate in the UFC’s first female fight.
“When I first started thinking about getting involved in MMA I dreamt about the possibility of being in the first women’s UFC fight, going for the title and paving the way,” explained Carmouche. “At this point, I’m ready for the fight to be tomorrow. I just want it to hurry up and get here. It’s like Christmas for me.”
