Currently the UFC has six female fighters under contract that the MMA world knows about – Cat Zingano, Alexis Davis, Sara McMann, Miesha Tate, Liz Carmouche, and Ronda Rousey. However, it turns out the organization has also inked deals with four other women and isn’t stopping there.
UFC President Dana White recently provided some insight on the company’s approach to the fairer sex’s future in the Octagon, telling fans at a Q&A before the UFC 157 weigh-ins the UFC plans on stocking the bantamweight division over the next year and is already eyeing more talent.
“We already signed ten girls and we’re signing five more,” confirmed White, referring to the weight-class as “stacked”.
No specifics were offered on who the lucky ladies might be. Given their status as both being skilled competitors and available, some of the possible candidates could be Kaitlin Young, Amanda Nunes, and Sarah Kaufman.
