UFC welterweight Matt Riddle’s career appears to have gone up in smoke after a blazing start with an 8-3 record in the Octagon including wins in his last three tilts. In truth, Riddle has had his hand raised four times in a row, but a victory over Chris Clements was ruled a No Contest after the Ultimate Fighter alumnus failed a post-fight drug test for marijuana use. Along those same lines, Riddle was popped again for smoking pot leading up to his February 16 match-up with Che Mills and has since been released from the roster.
Riddle, who has a license for medical marijuana, confirmed the matter to MMAJunkie Radio.
All of Riddle’s professional appearances have come under the UFC’s banner after entering TUF 7 as a legitimate rookie. Among the opponents Riddle took out during his run are the likes of John Maguire, Dan Cramer, and DaMarques Johnson.
