Bellator featherweight Daniel Straus has been waiting a long time to make good on the title-shot he earned by winning a tournament in 2012 and, based on some recent news, won’t be receiving it any time soon if ever at all. Straus was arrested last night in Florida for driving on a suspended license as well as on a few drug charges. Specifically, Straus was in possession of ecstasy, less than 20 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
He is currently incarcerated with a $2,200 bond.
News of Straus’ condition was confirmed by MMAJunkie through the Broward Country Sherriff’s department. Bellator officials have yet to comment on the situation.
The arrest comes after Straus was forced to withdraw last week from an April 4 bout with 145-pound champion Pat Curran after breaking his hand in training.
