Two of the most talented judokas to enter MMA are set to square off in a little more than a month thanks to a match-up at Bellator 95 between Rick Hawn-Karo Parisyan. The bout will mark Parisyan’s debut under the promotion’s banner and Hawn’s return to the 170 pounds after a run at the lightweight belt.
Hawn confirmed the April 4 match-up by way of Twitter.
The 14-2 Hawn is coming off a submission loss to 155-pound champion Michael Chandler, marking the first time he’d been finished in his career. Prior to the stumble he’d put away nine of the foes he’d beaten, all by way of strikes.
Parisyan is on a two-fight winning streak with both victories stemming from an opening round Armbar. He holds an overall record of 22-9 with past triumphs over the likes of Chris Lytle, Matt Serra, and Nick Diaz.
