Erick Silva set for June scrap with John Hathaway

John Hathaway - UFN 24Welterweight Erick Silva will see action in Brazil for the fourth time in five UFC fights this June 8 when he faces John Hathaway at UFC on Fuel 10 (i.e. the Ultimate Fighter Brasil 2 Finale). Interestingly enough, the 14-3 Silva’s most recent victory under the UFC banner came via first-frame submission against Charlie Brenneman a year ago to the day as his match-up with Hathaway.

UFC officials have confirmed the bout. UFC on Fuel 10 is headlined by a heavyweight tilt between Fabricio Werdum-Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

Eight of Silva’s triumphs have featured a tap-out with another three TKOs to his credit as well.

Hathaway (17-1) is on a three-fight winning streak including a recent outpointing of John Maguire. He also holds past instances of success against the likes of Rick Story and Diego Sanchez.

I feel like arm chair matchmakers have been calling for this fight for awhile now. You’re welcome Joe Silva.
