The WSOF has yet to promote its second event, doing so later this month, but the organization has already started looking down the road towards June 18 when WSOF 3 is scheduled to unfold in Las Vegas. Spots on the card started filling up this week with the announcement of welterweight Jon Fitch’s signing, and it looks like the former title-contender grappler won’t be the only UFC veteran on the lineup either.
According to his manager, Lyle Beerbohm will face Jacob Volkmann in a lightweight tilt at the summer show. Volkmann was released by the UFC after suffering a loss last month.
The 15-4 Volkmann is a top notch grappler with seven submissions to his credit. Among his notable wins are those over Antonio McKee, Efrain Escudero, Shane Roller, and Danny Castillo.
Beerbohm is no slouch on the ground either, possessing an overall record of 20-2 including ten submissions. “Fancy Pants” also owns another seven instances of success stemming from strikes and has come out of five straight fights with his hand raised.
