The UFC has organized a bona fide clash between top contenders for UFC 162 in the form of a fight between featherweights Chan Sung Jung and Ricardo Lamas. Both men are undefeated in the Octagon since coming over from WEC with impressive outings against a number of notable adversaries.
Though UFC officials haven’t announced the bout’s existence, Lamas revealed the rumble late last night on Twitter. The match-up joins Mark Munoz-Tim Boetsch, Tim Kennedy-Roger Gracie, and headliner Anderson Silva-Chris Weidman on the July 6 lineup.
“The Korean Zombie” is 13-3 with finishes of Leonard Garcia, Mark Hominick, and Dustin Poirier in his last three tilts. Eleven of victories have featured either a TKO or submission.
The 13-2 Lamas is riding the momentum of a four-fight winning streak. He holds past wins over the likes of Bart Palaszewski, Hatsu Hioki, Cub Swanson, and most recently Erik Koch.
