Without an immediate resolution to his visa issues on the horizon, heavy-handed welterweight Paul Daley is doing his best to stay active without jeopardizing his future under the Bellator banner. Fresh off a fight in Ireland, “Semtex” is now scheduled for a scrap in Dubai on May 10 where he’ll face Rodrigo Ribeiro at DFC 4.
Event officials have confirmed the clash as the show’s headliner. Daley is unable to travel to the United States at the moment based on a legal case he’s dealing with at home in England.
The 30-year old Brit is known for delivering brutal knockouts as he did last month against Patrick Vallee. The victory improved his record to 31-12-2 and was his 22nd by way of TKO.
Entering the bout as a severe underdog, Ribeiro is a tomato can of sorts with a 9-10 record and losses in four of his last five fights including a sixty-second knockout to Phil Baroni last August. However, in his defense, five of his wins have come via submission, giving him a BJJer’s chance against Daley’s scintillating stand-up.
