A new bantamweight bout has surfaced at UFC on FOX 7 after Francisco Rivera was forced out of his fight against Hugo Viana at the April 20 event for health-related reasons. No specifics were offered on the 31-year old’s injury.
According to UFC officials, T.J. Dillashaw has been tabbed to fill the vacancy. The match-up is set to take place on the preliminary portion of the card.
Dillashaw’s battle with the Brazilian will mark his second in a little more than a month, scoring a knockout win over Issei Tamura last weekend at UFC 158. He holds an overall record of 7-1 and is currently on a three-fight run inside the Octagon.
Meanwhile, “Wolverine” is unbeaten so far seven fights into his career. His last taste of action came in a December tilt against Reuben Duran who he flattened in the first frame.
