It wasn’t long ago that Brian Bowles was seen as one of the top bantamweights in the world. However, the former WEC champion has become somewhat of an afterthought these days through no fault of his own, as Bowles has been shelved since a 2011 stumble to Urijah Faber for health-related reasons.
Thankfully, the 32-year old’s hiatus is set to end in a few months when he faces George Roop at UFC 160. Though not confirmed, MMAJunkie has confirmed the May 25 clash with sources close to the situation.
Bowles is 10-2 in his career including wins over Marcos Galvao, Takeya Mizugaki, and Miguel Torres. All but one of his victories have featured some form of stoppage.
The 13-9-1 Roop is coming off a decision win over Reuben Duran, adding to past success against the likes of Josh Grispi and Chan Sung Jung.
