A bout between featherweights Rodrigo Damm and Mizuto Hirota has been booked for UFC on Fuel 10, pitting two talented competitors in need of a victory against one another with the added bonus of being a legitimate stylistic clash. Damm is a submission-by trade, tapping out a number of the opponents he’s beaten, while Hirota’s boxing has been the difference in most of his match-ups and produced more than a few knockouts.
Though not confirmed, Brazilian outlet TATAME has confirmed the action’s addition to the June 8 event.
Damm is 1-1 in the UFC since his stint on TUF Brasil. He holds an overall mark of 10-6 with six of his wins featuring some form of tap-out.
Comparably, the 14-6-1 Hirota has never submitted a foe but does have eight strike-based stoppages on his record. However, it’s been nearly three years since his last TKO and he’s on a two-fight slide, making it a “must win” for the Japanese veteran.
