UFC welterweight Carlos Condit (28-7) knows what it’s like to fight both champion Georges St-Pierre (24-2) and top contender Johny Hendricks (15-1). Condit suffered decision defeats to both GSP and Hendricks in his last two tilts, the latter of which secured the heavy-handed wrestler’s upcoming try at St-Pierre’s title.
Condit was recently asked to give his thoughts on the future meeting between St-Pierre and Hendricks, telling Inside MMA he felt the divisional king’s overall arsenal would serve him well against his challenger’s rawer skill-set.
“Georges St-Pierre is just a more polished fighter,” explained Condit after picking the pound-for-pound great as the bout’s likely winner. “Johny Hendricks, he’s dangerous and he’s got good skills, but he is a little rough around the edges when it comes to his whole game. And Georges is just such a technician. He puts things together so well and is just a sharp, clean fighter and I think that’s probably going to make the difference in that match-up.”
No date has been set for the scrap between Hendricks/St-Pierre. Meanwhile, Condit’s next effort is also up in the air though he’s pointed to Rory MacDonald as an opponent he’d like to see action against sometime soon.
