Two Strikeforce veterans are set for a scrap this summer though not inside the Octagon. Specifically, cement-fisted slugger Mike Kyle has been booked for a bout against polished Dutchman Valentijn Overeem at CFA 11.
News of the bout was first reported by MMAJunkie. CFA 11 is scheduled for May 24 in Coral Gables, Florida and is also rumored to feature an appearance from controversial transgendered fighter Fallon Fox.
Kyle is 19-9-1 in his career including six wins in his last eight efforts. Twelve of his triumphs have come by way of knockout.
Comparably, Overeem holds an overall record of 30-27 with 29 stoppages to his credit. The fight against Kyle will be the first for “The Python” in more than a year, suffering a submission lost in March 2012 the last time he took to the cage.
