An injury has forced UFC welterweight Amir Sadollah out of May 25 match-up with Stephen Thompson, creating a short-lived vacancy since filled by Strikeforce veteran Nah-Shon Burrell. Both men are strikers by trade and seem likely to deliver an entertaining effort as a result.
The 9-2 Burrell has six knockouts to his credit though he earned a decision win in his Octagon debut, outpointing Yuri Villefort at UFC 157.
Comparably, Thompson is 6-1 but hasn’t fought since suffering the first stumble of his career a little more than a year ago. The kickboxing prodigy is considered to be one of the most creative stand-up artists in the game as evident in his memorable finish of Dan Stittgen in February 2012.
