The UFC on Fuel 9 bantamweight match-up between Brad Pickett and Mike Easton had a ton of potential on paper and the duo definitely lived up to the high expectations with a highly entertaining effort come showtime. Easton and Pickett went at it full speed for three rounds with each man getting the better of the other at points. Though Pickett ultimately walked away with his hand raised due to Split Decision, each man exited the Octagon as a winner thanks to the tilt being named Fight of the Night.
Pickett and Easton both won $60,000 for the honor.
Knockout of the Night went to newcomer Conor McGregor who put Marcus Brimage away a little more than a minute into their meeting with a series of powerful, precise punches. In addition to winning $60,000 for the distinction, the 13-1 Irishman also picked up his twelfth strike-based stoppage with the victory.
Finally, Submission of the Night went to Reza Madadi for his third-frame finish of Michael Johnson. The outcome was particularly noteworthy based on Madadi not only being a Swede but also based on him weathering an early storm to hold on and eventually secure the choke. As with the other bonuses, Madadi received $60,000 for his performance.
