UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey knows her next opponent will be one of two women – Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano. Both competitors are dangerous in their own right, possessing both ground skills and solid stand-up, and should serve as an interesting challenge for Rousey regardless of who emerges victorious in a bout between the two this Saturday night at the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.
Rousey gave her take on the tilt during this week’s edition of UFC Tonight where she passed on picking a winner, saying both women pique her curiosity but in different ways.
“I have no clue,” said Rousey when asked to predict the outcomes. “I think they’re both amazing fighters.”
“I think I would prefer to coach against Miesha, so I’m rooting for her, but to have two undefeated fighters fight for a title, which it would be against Cat, is something I think would be an amazing experience as well,” she continued. “I’m the champ. I’m here to fight the best so may the best girl win and I’ll be here waiting for ya.”
Tate is 13-3 with past wins over Marloes Coenen, Zoila Gurgel, and most recently Julie Kedzie. Comparably, Zingano is unbeaten at 7-0 including six instances of success featuring some form of stoppage.
