Two seasoned veterans in need of a victory have been set to scrap this summer in the form of a fight between Spencer Fisher-Yves Edwards at UFC on FOX 8. Both men have spent over a decade in the sport and should turn in an entertaining effort based on past performance regardless of who comes out with his hand raised.
Fisher is 24-9 in his career with nineteen stoppages under his belt. Though he owns past wins over the likes of Sam Stout, Matt Wiman, and Thiago Alves, the 36-year old has lost five of his last six fights including three in a row and is almost certainly fighting for his career come showtime.
The 42-19-1 Edwards isn’t in as dire straits but did come up short in a Split Decision against Isaac Vallie-Flagg the last time he saw action. Like Fisher, Edwards’ extended run in the ring has produced a number of instances of notable success along with a slew of stoppages. He has ended 33 of his opponents evenings including a near-even split between submissions/TKOs including the likes of Rafaello Oliveira, Rich Clementi, Jeremy Stephens, and Josh Thomson.
