The UFC already has three cards on tap in Brazil and is apparently adding a fourth with an extra twist to boot. Rather than take place on a Saturday as is standard practice, the event will actually give fans an unexpected dose of action during the week by unfolding on a Wednesday.
Officials have yet to confirm the show’s existence, but Brazilian outlet TATAME is reporting it will go down on September 4 at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia. The venue holds approximately 14,000-16,000 fans.
No bouts were attached to the lineup.
The UFC’s next stop in Brazil is scheduled for May 18 (UFC on FX 8) with a return trip in June (UFC on Fuel 10) and again in August (UFC 163). With a January effort already in the can, the organization is clearly living up to their promise of focusing on the South American nation in terms of delivering multiple events on an annual basis.
