UFC light heavyweight Glover Teixeira was seen as a title-contender by those in the know before he ever set foot inside the Octagon. A well-rounded finisher on an impressive winning streak, Teixeira has lived up to the hype with triumphs in a trio of UFC appearances including success against former champion Quinton Jackson in his most recent rumble.
Though Teixeira is definitely the favorite entering his tilt with James Te Huna at UFC 160, the 20-2 Brazilian isn’t discounting his adversary’s abilities.
“He’s kind of like me a little bit. He takes people down, he has some submissions, he strikes – I know he’s a good MMA fighter,” said Teixeira in an interview with the UFC.
While he certainly respects what his opponent has to offer, Teixeira isn’t expecting to go toe-to-toe with Te Huna for an extended period of time.
“As soon as he feels my hands he’s not gonna wanna take that chance,” guaranteed Teixeira.
Fans can catch their clash on the PPV portion of the May 25 event.
