A bout between light heavyweight grapplers Vinny Magalhaes and Anthony Perosh has been added to the lineup for UFC 163. Both men had expressed interest facing off in past interviews and are in a similar position divisionally after having solid winning streaks snapped.
SporTV was first to report the rumble. UFC officials have yet to confirm the clash’s existence. The August 3 event is scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro and features Jose Aldo-Anthony Pettis in a headlining title-fight.
The 10-6 Magalhaes had scored success in six straight fights before losing an April decision to Phil Davis. All of his victories have featured some form of finish including eight by way of submissions.
Perosh holds an overall record of 13-7 but hasn’t fought in nearly a year for health-related reasons. Like Magalhaes he has earned stoppages in each of his wins.
