UFC bantamweight Miesha Tate’s recently revealed presence on the Ultimate Fighter 18 has obviously resulted in her absence from a scheduled clash with Liz Carmouche at UFC on FOX 8. Fortunately, Carmouche didn’t have to wait long to find out who would be filling the spot formerly held by Tate, as news has surfaced stating organization is bringing in Brazilian finisher Jessica Andrade.
MMAFighting was first to report Andrade’s involvement with an official announcement expected to come soon. Her match-up with Carmouche will unfold on the preliminary portion of the July 27 card.
Andrade is 9-2 with five submissions and four TKOs notched on her record. She has also laid claim to wins in seven of her last eight efforts.
The 8-3 Carmouche is also familiar with putting foes away, scoring all but one of her victories via stoppage. Also similar to Andrade, “Girl-Rilla” will be looking to pick up her first win inside the Octagon, falling to champion Ronda Rousey this past February in the UFC’s first fight between females.
