UFC welterweights Court McGee and Robert Whittaker both know what it’s like to win a season of the Ultimate Fighter. McGee was the last man standing on TUF 11 back in 2010, while Whittaker was crowned TUF: Australia vs. UK champ less than a year ago. Now, each will have a chance to prove he is the superior representative of the reality show’s brand on August 28 when the two tussle at UFC on FS 2.
Event officials have confirmed the clash. The Indianapolis-bound card is headlined by a rematch between Martin Kampmann-Carlos Condit with other announced outings on tap such as Donald Cerrone-Rafael dos Anjos and Sarah Kaufman-Sara McMann.
McGee (15-3) ended a two-fight slide by beating seasoned veteran Josh Neer in his previous pairing. The victory was his fourth inside the Octagon.
The 11-2 Whittaker has finished all but one of the opponents he’s beaten including TUF 16 winner Colton Smith in a match-up last month. Also impressive, he has an even split between wins by TKO/submission.
