The UFC’s flyweight division still has a lot of room to grow but there’s no question a number of talented 125ers currently reside on the organization’s roster. Two fighters looking to climb a rung higher on the relatively short contendership ladder have scheduled to square off on August 31 at UFC 164 in the form of a bout between Louis Gaudinot-Tim Elliott.
UFC officials have confirmed the match-up’s addition to the Milwaukee-based event.
Gaudinot has been out of action since beating John Lineker more than a year ago. He is 6-2 in his career.
The 9-3-1 Elliott owns seven stoppages with a nice balance between TKOs/submissions. He is coming off an outpointing of Jared Papazian and also owns a past victory over Jens Pulver.
UFC 164 is headlined by lightweight champ Benson Henderson putting his gold up for grabs against T.J. Grant. Other bouts on tap include Dustin Poirier-Erik Koch, Chad Mendes-Clay Guida, and Josh Barnett-Frank Mir.
