Yushin Okami-Ronaldo Souza squaring off in September

UFC middleweight Yushin Okami has more than 35 fights under his belt and has yet to be submitted in a single scrap. That statistic will be put to the test on September 4 when he faces brilliant BJJer Ronaldo Souza in a featured fight at UFC on FS 3.

Though not official, multiple outlets including Portal Do Vale Tudo have confirmed the clash with sources close to the event.

The 29-7 Okami has come out with his hand raised in three straight tilts including wins over Alan Belcher and Hector Lombard. He also holds past victories over the likes of Mark Munoz and Nate Marquardt.

Souza picked up a submission win over Chris Camozzi last month in the first frame of his UFC debut. He is 18-3 in his career with fourteen of his wins coming via submission.

I like both fighters, but if Okami does his normal game plan of control the guy and take him down to grind out a win, Jacare will be in a good position to log in sub after sub after sub. It should be a good ground battle, seeing if Jacare’s sub attack is stronger then Okami’s defense.
