UFC bantamweight Miesha Tate (13-4) may not like champion Ronda Rousey (7-0) but she would undoubtedly love to have her outspoken rival’s career. In addition to helping female fighters break into the world’s foremost MMA organization, Rousey is one of the sport’s biggest stars and the first woman to ever hold UFC gold.
One of the many media appearances Rousey made last year during her rise to the top was a spread in ESPN Magazine’s annual “Body Issue” featuring nude/semi-nude athletes as a means of highlighting the human physique. Fittingly, it turns out Tate is now on deck to undress for the publication, as her name was revealed along with the list of competitors posing in this year’s edition. It is unknown if she will also follow in Rousey’s footsteps by landing a cover.
The magazine is set to hit stands on July 12.
Tate is currently butting heads with Rousey on the set of TUF 18 where both are serving as opposing coaches. After the season’s conclusion, Rousey will defend her belt against Tate in a rematch of a 2012 Strikeforce scrap seeing “Rowdy” Ronda score an Armbar win in the opening round of action.
