UFC bantamweight Miesha Tate is thankful for her chance to coach on the Ultimate Fighter 18 and not just because it put her in close proximity to rival Ronda Rousey or landed her a crack at the championship. Rather, the time she spent on the reality show affected her on a personal level by reminding her of the struggles up-and-coming competitors deal with and introducing her to a number of 135 pound peers chasing the same dream of being top dog.
“I’ve had so many amazing and humbling experiences coaching this season of TUF,” wrote Tate today on Twitter. “Sad it’s coming to a close but I will forever cherish these memories.”
TUF 18 is scheduled to air on FOX Sports 1 and will debut on September 4. She and Rousey, who are each leading a squad of bantamweight females/males on the show, are scheduled to fight for the divisional belt at some point after the season ends.
