UFC featherweight Jeremy Stephens can finally start focusing on his future in the Octagon instead of worry about spending time in a different fenced-in enclosure, as a serious set of felony charges stemming from a 2011 incident have been dropped. The 27-year old Stephens was facing time behind bars for assault and burglary, though apparently the involved evidence was insufficient to convict him on either allegation.
According to a report from MMAFighting, Stephens did plead guilty to a misdemeanor (disorderly conduct) but will only need to pay a fine.
The legal situation cost Stephens a scrap last October when he was arrested at a hotel shortly before a scheduled bout.
The 21-9 Stephens is not currently booked. He was last seen picking up a Unanimous Decision win over Estevan Payan at UFC 160.
