UFC featherweight Conor McGregor started out his camp for UFC on FS 1 expecting to face Akira Corassani in the cage. Then, after Corassani was forced out of the fight for health-related reasons, the heavily-hyped Irishman began preparing for replacement Andy Ogle. Now, McGregor is set to mix it up with Max Holloway at the August 17 event based on Ogle also withdrawing from the tilt.
UFC officials have confirmed the change.
Holloway had a three-fight winning streak snapped in May by a Split Decision stumble to Dennis Bermudez. The 21-year old is 7-2 with notable victories over Justin Lawrence and Leonard Garcia in the Octagon.
The 13-2 McGregor has finished all of the opponents he’s beaten including twelve via TKO. He made his UFC debut in April, scoring a 67-second knockout over Marcus Brimage.
