Twenty-two fighters got a dose of good news today when the Nevada Athletic Commission announced all drug tests attached to last weekend’s lineup for UFC 162 had come up clean. According to the regulatory board’s announcement, every competitor on the card was checked.
Two of the evening’s athletes with a particular interest in the results were no doubt Dave Herman and Chris Leben. Both men had been popped by similar screenings in the past and happened to lose at the event. Now clearly clean, at least for the moment, each will be able to focus on his next fight instead of worrying about fallout from another failed drug test.
UFC 162 was headlined by former middleweight champion Anderson Silva’s stumble to new title-holder Chris Weidman. Other featured match-ups included Cub Swanson-Dennis Siver, Mark Munoz-Tim Boetsch, and Charles Oliveira-Frankie Edgar.
