A solid scrap featuring UFC welterweights looking to make a move towards the upper-echelon of the division appears to be on tap for this fall in the form of a bout between Dong Hyun Kim and Erick Silva. Nothing official has been announced, including the actual card the clash is attached to, but it is expected to take place on October 9 in Brazil.
Globo was first to report the rumble. The yet-to- be-named card in question is expected to air on FOX Sports 1.
Kim is coming off consecutive decisions over Paulo Thiago and Siyar Bahadurzada. He holds an overall record of 17-2 with other notable victories against the likes of Amir Sadollah, T.J. Grant, Matt Brown, and Nate Diaz.
The 15-3 Silva was last seen submitting Jason High in the opening round of a June fight. Twelve of his triumphs have featured some form of finish.
