The MMA world’s focus is on Seattle, Washington at the moment for UFC on FOX 8 but in a little more than a week attention will turn southward to Brazil where featherweight champion Jose Aldo will put his gold up for grabs against Chan Sung Jung. The bout will mark the 22-1 Aldo’s attempt at a fifth consecutive defense of his belt and sixteenth straight win. Meanwhile, Jung (13-3) is on a three-fight run including one-sided showings against Mark Hominick and Dustin Poirier.
Also on tap at UFC 163, light heavyweight Lyoto Machida will look to cinch up his shot at the divisional gold by beating decorated wrestler Phil Davis. Machida holds an overall record of 19-3 in comparison to Davis’ 11-1 mark.
