American Kickboxing Academy will be well-represented in Houston on October 19 when the Octagon rolls into town for UFC 166. In addition to bouts featuring heavyweights Daniel Cormier and Cain Velasquez, the UFC has also added a middleweight match-up featuring former Strikeforce champ Luke Rockhold.
According to a Tweet from Rockhold, he’ll be battling Tim Boetsch at the event.
Rockhold was stopped with strikes by Vitor Belfort in his UFC debut but had won nine fights in a row prior to the stumble. He holds an overall record of 10-2 with notable victories over Keith Jardine, Tim Kennedy, and Ronaldo Souza.
“The Barbarian” was seen as a title-contender in 2012 but is simply trying to avoid a three-tilt skid at this point in his career. Boetsch holds an overall record of 16-6 with twelve finishes to his credit.
