UFC lightweight Aaron Riley retires after stumble to Justin Salas

32-year old lightweight Aaron Riley has called it a career after 45 professional fights unfolding over a sixteen-year run in the ring. Unfortunately, Riley wasn’t able to go out on a winning note, as he suffered a fairly bad beating and Split Decision defeat at UFC on FOX 8.

Riley announced his decision on Twitter after the event’s conclusion, stating, “(Fought) my last MMA fight tonight. It’s been fun, but after 16 years I’m calling it good. Thanks to everyone who ever supported my career.”

A gutsy grappler, Riley compiled an overall record of 30-14-1 including fourteen submissions and five TKOs along the way. Among the notable opponents Riley owns victories over are Jorge Gurgel and Michihiro Omigawa.
