A match-up originally expected to unfold next month has been pushed back to October after one of the evening’s participants suffered a minor hand injury while training for the tilt. Specifically, UFC bantamweight T.J. Dillashaw will challenge recovering submission-artist Raphael Assuncao at UFC Fight Night 29 in Brazil on the evening’s undercard.
Dillashaw is on a four-fight winning streak with finishes in his last three tilts. He holds an overall record of 8-1 with six total stoppages to his credit.
The 20-4 Assuncao has tapped out ten of the opponents he’s beaten. He is 2-0 since slimming down to 135 pounds but has found success in a quartet of consecutive clashes.
UFC Fight Night 29 is headlined by a welterweight meeting between Demian Maia-Jake Shields.
