Travis Browne has scored 10 career knockout finishes, compiling a strong 14-1-1 record in his MMA career.
Saturday night, Browne will have the opportunity to continue his climb up the UFC’s heavyweight division ladder when he faces former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen.
Earlier this week, Browne was asked about the skills of Overeem, specifically his striking.
“All of us hit hard,” said Browne, of the UFC’s heavyweight roster. “The first one to land a big shot in the division is usually a winner.”
Browne is coming off a victory over Gabriel Gonzaga via knockout in just over a minute. His only career loss came to Antonio Silva, the same man who defeated Overeem in his most recent bout.
The 31-year-old “Hapa” has also claimed wins over the likes of Stefan Struve, James McSweeney and Chad Griggs, while fighting Cheick Kongo to a draw in 2010.
