UFC Fight Night 26 Co-Main: Travis Browne Stuns Alistair Overeem With Front-Kick

Travis Browne withstood an incredible attack by former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem for the better part of the first round Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 26.

Once Browne was able to get some breathing room between himself and Overeem, it was all over, as “Hapa” delivered a front kick to the chin followed by two big hammerfists to the face, sending “The Reem” to a second straight loss.

“I did it,” shouted Browne. “This was just another goal in my career; taking out a Top-5 guy. I wanna wear that strap.”

Browne’s (15-1-1) only career loss came at the hands of Antonio Silva last year. He finished Gabriel Gonzaga to get back on track before the Overeem win.

While Overeem seemed in complete control, he again failed to execute any type of defense – just like his loss to Silva recently.

I reckon if you throw the same kick 50 times it’s bound to land at some point.
