UFC featherweight Conor McGregor drew a ton of praise prior to his performance against Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26, having company head Dana White even go so far as to compare his hype to that surrounding former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. The 25-year old Irishman didn’t disappoint either, looking sharp en route to a decision win over the talented Holloway.
Though he suffered a knee injury in the bout, it appears it wasn’t overly serious in the scope of such afflictions and won’t keep him out of the Octagon for long. A report on UFC Tonight revealed McGregor sprained his LCL and could fight again before the end of the year. Specifically, “Notorious” wants action on December 28 at UFC 168 with Diego Brandao‘s name being thrown in the mix as a possible opponent.
The 18-8 Brandao has also addressed the possibility, verbally agreeing to the year-end effort if the UFC is able to put it together.
“I always liked challenges, and I believe a fight against McGregor would be a good challenge for me,” he said. “If he wants to fight me, I also want to fight him. Hey, McGregor, let’s make it happen. It would be perfect for MMAFighting.

McGregor is 14-2 with finishes in all but one of his victories. Twelve of his wins have come via TKO including a 67-second pasting of Marcus Brimage in McGregor’s UFC debut.
