Wanderlei Silva: “It’s been a long time since I’ve felt such a strong desire to beat someone up.”

Though they say “talk is cheap”, and its clear iconic brawler Wanderlei Silva is not based on his alleged demand for a bump up in salary, “The Axe Murderer” recently released a video aimed at Chael Sonnen where his desire to draw his rival’s blood was on full display. In the clip, Silva channeled his inner-Sonnen to deliver an animated rant promising he would impart as much damage as possible assuming the two eventually meet inside the Octagon.

“I’m only waiting for the date and location, because the people want this fight and I want this fight,” said Silva, later explaining he was aiming for a main event match-up rather than a co-headliner based on the possibility of tagging Sonnen for two additional rounds. “It’s been a long time since I’ve felt such a strong desire to beat someone up.”

“Sonnen, I will beat you up you coward,” he continued. “I don’t go in there to give up, like Sonnen did against Jon Jones in the very first round; like he did against Anderson Silva when he took a knee to the chest and stayed down like a little girl.”

“I will go into this fight not only to fight but to hurt you,” he added. “Sonnen, I will punch your face in. I want to see you repeat what you’ve said but to my face. I will make you swallow your teeth, you loser.”

“Sonnen, you are afraid of me and I can see it in your eyes every time we meet. And now I will get you Sonnen. Now I will get you,” the heavy-handed brawler concluded.

Silva did not address UFC President Dana White’s recent comments stating he’d demanded PPV points to square off against Sonnen. Regardless, if the sides do indeed iron the kinks out, it is clear fans will be in for a treat.

Sonnen is 28-13-1 including a recent submission finish of Silva’s close friend and former training partner, Mauricio Rua. Comparably, Silva holds an overall record of 35-12-1 including 25 knockouts and wins in the UFC over Keith Jardine, Brian Stann, Cung Le, and Michael Bisping.
