Another chapter was written in the sad story of former UFC middleweight Jason Miller this past week when “Mayhem” ended up behind bars again for the third time in a little more than a year. Compounding concern, the 32-year old’s latest stint in the clink was related to a domestic violence charge similar to the source of a separate arrest earlier this month.
UFC Tonight reporter Ariel Helwani was first to report the matter with Bloody Elbow confirming the crime. Bail has been set at $50,000 for “Corporal Injury of a Spouse”, meaning injuries were visible on the victim in question (likely his girlfriend based on his previous arrest for domestic violence).
He is currently being held in the Harbor Justice Center in Orange County, California and will face formal charges in court at some point soon. If convicted, Miller could spend up to four years in jail.
Miller’s arrest on August 11 for domestic violence came after officers responded to a call from the retired fighter’s girlfriend who was observed to have “multiple bruises covering both arms and both legs, laceration and bleeding above right eyebrow approximately 1.5 inches wide, and laceration to the right side of face approximately 1.5 inches wide.” No details were available on the injuries his alleged victim suffered this time around but are expected to surface in the coming days when the police report is made available.
The 23-9 Miller decided to call it quits on his MMA career after losing two tilts in the UFC and being handed his release. He has had a number of run-ins with the law over his career, dating back to before his time under the organization’s banner, and behaved bizarrely on countless occasions.
