Two of MMA’s true icons have been officially inked for action, as UFC stars Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort will indeed face off on November 9 as previously rumored. The bout will take place in Goiania, Brazil and is expected to serve as a five-round main event at UFC Fight Night 32. The two tussled once before back in 2006 with Henderson emerging victorious due to a decision nod.
Though Belfort’s most recent rumbles have come at middleweight, his showdown with Henderson will take place at light heavyweight as a means of allowing Belfort to maintain his status as a top contender at 185 pounds. He holds an overall record of 23-10 with sixteen knockouts including recent finishes of Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping.
The 29-10 Henderson was on the cusp of a title-shot in 2012 after stringing together four wins but has come up short in two straight Split Decisions since the run. He owns past victories over the likes of Fedor Emelianenko, Mauricio Rua, and Rich Franklin.
