MMA icon Randy Couture hasn’t fought in more than two years and has no plans to make a comeback at the age of 50. However, Couture keeps his eye on the sport he made a name for himself in and, like a countless number of people, has been impressed by what he’s seen from UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey. In addition to being a talented, technically sound fighter, Rousey’s personality has elevated her to superstar status and even landed her a role alongside Couture in Expendables 3.
Knowing a thing or two about Mixed Martial Arts and the world of film himself, “The Natural” recently told Inside MMA he was more than willing to offer up any advice Rousey might want on either front.
“I would be happy in both the film genre and the fight front to work with Ronda. She’s a very exciting fighter, hugely talented, and she’s got a bright, bright future ahead of her,” said Couture, later joking about wanting to test her skill on the mat as well. “Hopefully time will permit and we’ll have a chance to get on the mat, and we’ll see if she can Armbar me.”
Rousey has won all seven of her professional bouts by way of an opening round Armbar with another three in amateur competition as well. She is also scheduled to play a part in The Fast and Furious 7.
