While the notion of delivering a "real time" product on TUF 15 sounded good on the surface, the actual result was not so smooth. The situation removed editors' ability to highlight certain personalities or accentuate drama and the fights weren't so fantastic either since even the most plodding affair couldn't be polished up.
The UFC’s creation of the Ultimate Fighter will forever be linked with the organization’s rise from an outcast athletic endeavor to global power, as the show showcased the personalities and professionalism often involved inside the cage. For the first time many fans learned how technical Mixed Martial Arts actually was and got a feel for how approachable fighters actually were. However, that’s not to say every decision relating to TUF has been great since it first showed up. With TUF 18 debuting tomorrow night it’s time to take a look back at five gaffes from the franchise’s run on TV in hopes the decision to mix male/female fighters on the upcoming season doesn’t follow in their footsteps… (Photos by USA Today Sports Images)
