Few fighters are feared like British slugger Paul Daley. Though somewhat one-dimensional, “Semtex” throws shots with bad intentions and has knocked out his fair share of studs. However, Healy has always been noted for his toughness, and such was true in this tilt. The bearded brawler survived an opening round melee with Daley and found his way into position for a submission finish to the delight of his fellow Pacific-North Westerners in attendance at the Oregon-based event.
Lightweight Pat Healy will take to the Octagon in a couple of weeks when he clashes with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 165 where he’ll attempt to follow up on a fantastic showing against Jim Miller this past April without the subsequent suspension for recreational drug use. If Healy is able to get by the unbeaten Russian, he’ll set himself up for a potential title-shot or at least a crack at top contendership, adding yet another impressive feat to a rock solid run in MMA. Of course, it won’t be the first big win for “Bam Bam”, as he’s taken out more than his share of game adversaries… (Photos by USA Today Sports Images)
