UFC is looking to bring a stacked card to Sac Town for UFC on FOX 9 on December 14 from the Sleep Train Arena (formerly ARCO Arena) in the capital of California.
The plan is for Anthony Pettis to make his first title defense against TJ Grant in the main event. But nothing has been confirmed by the UFC
Grant was expected to fight Henderson before an injury had Pettis take his place and will get his title shot after a nice knockout win over former two-time title challenger, Gray Maynard.
A heavyweight collision is rumored to feature on the event. Two hard-hitting strikers will meet after their underdog performances in their last fights with Roy Nelson and Alistair Overeem. Travis Browne and Stipe Miocic are both expected to fight on the card.
Urijah Faber has been red hot lately with three straight wins at bantamweight. Faber scored two submission wins before a recent unanimous decision win over Yuri Alcantara at UFC Fight Night 26 in Boston.
Michael McDonald just had a stellar performance against Brad Pickett in his last fight, knocking the Brit down over and over until a second-round submission sealed the deal. Faber is another big name to boost him right back into title contention at bantamweight.
Faber’s close training partner Chad Mendes is also expected to fight on the card.
