There are plenty of fighters who would benefit by moving down a division but few fans pegged Jorgensen as one of them. However, he clearly feels he can make 125 pounds in a healthy manner, and the work he put in as a bantamweight is definitely cause for excitement when considering his future as a flyweight. Meanwhile, McCall remains one of the best 125ers on the UFC roster and shouldn’t have any problem matching Jorgensen’s speed, technique, or enthusiasm to succeed. There’s “Fight of the Night” potential written all over this affair.
2013 has been a historic year for the UFC in terms of their partnership with FOX. In addition to producing four events for the chief network, the organization also helped launch FOX Sports 1 and delivered a ton of additional action through FX/Fuel TV. Both parties look ready to end the twelve-month period on a high-note with a steadily growing star-studded lineup for UFC on FOX 9. The December 14 event already features a title-fight, plus two tilts with contendership implications as well as a pair of bouts between seasoned veterans with something to prove.
